Supermicro has announced certification for supporting Red Hat Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) across its BigTwin, SuperServers, and Ultra server families.

Red Hat Hyperconverged Infrastructure for Virtualization (RHHI-V)

In this announcement, multiple Supermicro server models have been tested and officially certified with Red Hat Hyperconverged Infrastructure for Virtualization (RHHI-V) version 1.7. RHHI-V combines Red Hat Virtualization and Red Hat Software-Defined Storage (Gluster Storage) into a high-performance, cost-effective, and easy-to-manage open-source HCI solution.

Certified Server Platforms

The certified Supermicro server platforms include BigTwin, SuperServers, and Ultra, each designed for different workload requirements. The highest-performance configuration tested consists of a 12-node cluster featuring:

672 CPU cores

4,608 GB of memory

230 TB of NVMe storage

All systems are powered by 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors and support additional hardware acceleration options such as:

Intel Optane DC Persistent Memory

NVIDIA GPUs or 25GbE networking
